How does Viva Health’s plan differ from my current plan?

One-on-one personal service is available at the viva health Headquarters Welcome Center in Birmingham, as well as in our viva health Cafes located in Florence, Hoover, Leeds, Montgomery, and Mobile.
- Additionally, we offer our VCare care management program which assists our members in following their specified care plan at home, including an option for at-home visits.
I’m very happy with my current providers. Will I have to change doctors?
- Most likely, no. If your current provider accepts Viva Health then you will not have to change. Also, if you join this plan you will not have any copays for visits to network PCPs.

Where can I expect to save money on the Viva Health Plan?
- This plan has been designed by Alabama Power and Viva Health to focus on preventive care.
- Due to the fact that you have NO COPAYS for primary care visits, you can directly expect to save money on your copays every time you or one of your dependents visits a network PCP. If you are diabetic, you can also save money on your diabetic supplies since there is no copay for a 30 day supply on those either.
- Although immeasurable, there are potential indirect cost savings that you may also experience. Through increased primary care visits it is possible that your PCP may detect a potentially chronic illness earlier than before and avert high cost hospital stays or treatments down the road.
Do I have to worry about my pre-existing conditions like diabetes being covered?
- There is no waiting period for pre-existing conditions on this plan. In fact, diabetic supplies are covered 100% for a 30 day supply under this plan.
